Report

With one of our wettest weeks on record the Club Executive were expecting a call from the Council to say all games are off at Pembroke Park but, because we had nursed the ground through the week it was game on.

The Colts started out fairly slowly and as a consequence didn’t get a win. Going down to Brighton by 40 Points. Chappy, Macca and Coops worked hard all morning and with no multiple goal scorers for the game Johnno, Jabba, Jimmy and Maynie were the ones who put the six pointers on the board.

The Ressies suffered a similar fate with a 67 point loss which , had it not been for inaccuracies by Brighton  the score could have been a lot worse. Our only multiple goal scorer in this game was Banga Banks with singles coming from willow and the old stager Dean Graham.
Best players were hard to find but John Pepper on his return and Shaun Robertson put in solid performances as did Crikey willow and the Walker boys.

In what was something like a scoreboard palindrome( what the bloody hell does that word mean ) Ackers sent the boys out to play in the mud, and play they did. Posting a 74 point victory.
Whilst not the prettiest game of footy seen at Pembroke Park, Cam Howlett and Speedy Standen put on a magnificent display of wet weather footy. Gods had a great day out as did Bents, Nuggy Kaine and Spaz.

Bents headed the goal kicking list with 3. Willo and speedy got two each. The wet weather really had the boys working as a team with the other 6 goals coming from individuals on the day.

Supporters are to be reminded that if you have any action photos of the game each week send them to tim.weir@dpac.tas.gov.au and he will put them on the Club web site.

Thanks to Didge this week for doing the line marking in, less than ideal conditions.

Don’t forget our upcoming functions Quiz Night 4th July, Ladies Night 25th. July  and
 Band Night 2nd. August.
